Turn the 2026 Ineos Grenadier Into a Campsite Generator: 400W Power Take-Off and Auxiliary Electrics Explained

A portable fridge, a string of camp lights, a winch on the bumper, a light bar on the roof: every one of those needs power, and most vehicles were never wired to supply it. Owners end up running cables through door seals and tapping into circuits that were sized for a phone charger.

The 2026 Ineos Grenadier is built the other way around. Its electrical system was designed from the start to run accessories, and the options list includes a 400W power take-off, a high-load switch panel, and an auxiliary battery. Here is what each one does and how they fit together for a Quebec camping or work setup.

What the Standard Electrical System Includes

Every Grenadier leaves the factory with a USB-A port, a USB-C port, and a 12V socket in the front of the cabin. Two additional USB-C charging ports in the second row are available as an option, along with a second 12V socket in the cargo area on Station Wagon and Utility Wagon models.

More important for accessory use are the three 10A circuits that come standard, switchable from the overhead control panel. Those are pre-wired outlets for light-duty equipment that an owner can connect without cutting into the vehicle’s harness.

The wiring is accessible through the engine bay and the interior, so adding a gadget does not require pulling down the headliner or removing door panels. INEOS describes it as plug-and-play pre-wiring, and it is what separates the Grenadier from vehicles where every accessory becomes an afternoon of splicing.

The 400W Power Take-Off

The optional 400W power take-off is the feature that turns the Grenadier into a mobile generator. INEOS positions it for running tools and leisure accessories directly from the vehicle: a cooler at a lakeside site, work equipment at a rural job site, or charging gear at a trailhead.

For a summer trip, that covers the electric cooler, the air pump for a paddleboard, and phone and camera charging for several people at once, all without a separate generator taking up cargo space.

The High-Load Auxiliary Switch Panel

Winches and light bars draw far more current than the standard 10A circuits handle. For those applications, the Grenadier offers a high-load auxiliary switch panel option that adds four extra circuits:

  • Three 25A circuits
  • One 500A circuit
  • Four integrated, weatherproof, roof-mounted outlets

The 500A circuit is sized for a winch. The 25A circuits handle light bars, work lamps, and similar accessories. The roof-mounted outlets mean a light bar or work lamp bracket on the roof rack connects to a factory-fitted, sealed plug rather than a cable snaked through a window seal.

The Grenadier’s winching capability is rated at 5.5 tonnes, and a removable rear winch is on the accessory list. That combination is what lets the vehicle recover itself, or another one, on a muddy boat launch.

The Auxiliary Battery

An auxiliary battery is available as an option on Base models and comes standard on the Trialmaster edition. It takes the place of the dry underseat stowage box beneath the rear bench.

For anyone running a fridge overnight or lights around a campsite, the second battery means the accessories draw from a separate reserve, so the main battery is still full in the morning when it is time to start the engine and leave.

Which Setup Fits Which Owner

A family camping at serviced or semi-serviced sites gets most of what it needs from the 400W power take-off and the optional rear USB-C ports. A cooler, lights, and charging are covered.

An owner running a winch, a roof light bar, and a fridge for multi-day trips away from any hookup will want the high-load switch panel and the auxiliary battery together. Each accessory then gets a properly rated circuit and its own power reserve.

Contractors and land managers using the Grenadier as a work vehicle benefit from the same combination, with the power take-off running tools on site.

How Much Can You Load on a 2026 Ineos Grenadier’s Roof and Doors? Utility Belts, the 420 kg Rack, and the Access Ladder

Cargo space inside a vehicle only goes so far. Once the kayaks, the spare fuel, the recovery boards, and the wet gear are accounted for, most of a summer trip’s equipment ends up strapped to the outside. The 2026 Ineos Grenadier was designed with that in mind, with load ratings published for the roof, the doors, and even the spare wheel. This guide lays out exactly how much each exterior... Read more

No Cell Signal, No Problem: Using the 2026 Ineos Grenadier Pathfinder Off-Road Navigation in Quebec’s Backcountry

Phone navigation works right up to the point where the last tower disappears behind the trees. For Quebec drivers heading past the end of the paved road, that point often comes an hour before the campsite, the boat launch, or the trailhead. The 2026 Ineos Grenadier addresses that gap with Pathfinder, an off-road navigation system fitted as standard on every model. This guide explains what... Read more

Rough Pack or Smooth Pack: How to Spec a Base 2026 Ineos Grenadier for Quebec Trails

The Fieldmaster and Trialmaster editions get most of the attention, but the 2026 Ineos Grenadier lineup starts with a Base model that arrives as a blank canvas. Quebec buyers who want to choose their own hardware, instead of taking a curated edition, will spend most of their decision time on two option packs: Rough and Smooth. This guide explains what a Base Grenadier includes before any boxes... Read more
